Not afraid of the grassy knoll
Or those hurried nights catching cold
Not even all those kisses I stole
I’m brave enough to stand strong
Not too scared to stick out my head
Or of those foolish words that I’ve said
Don’t care if I see blinding red
‘Cause I know where I belong

CHORUS
Compass or not, I’ll find my way
Unlocking doors, where I was chained
The gate keeper set me free.....… ..Oh oh
Grace...… is my Skeleton Key
Grace...… is my Skeleton Key
Grace...… is my Skeleton Key
Opening doors, I thought I’d never see
Grace...… is my Skeleton Key

Have no fear of sweet dreams K.O’d
Or those times nick of time no-showed
Who cares if they messed with my mojo?
I’m standing here standing bold and brave
Not afraid of breaking the curve
Or of getting what I deserve
Don’t care if someone flips me the bird
I’m anchored deep in my faith

REPEAT CHORUS

BRIDGE
Even when truth’s at a loss for words
And things I’ve taken for granted get blurred
I, I don’t have the time to stop and grieve
There’s a gift of grace wishing me Godspeed

INSTRUMENTAL

REPEAT CHORUS

first great lyrics...slightly on the unusual side but thats what makes a song flow and get listerns into the song. to me it seems like you try to make all of your songs sound country like. i would like to see some songs that go off the theme like maybe some pop songs or even love songs. you could also try using a range of instruments such as the guitar, piano, saxaphone etc... i think that would give your songs a different effect. how long have you been singing? i dont want this to sound harsh but i sing aswell and i think that you may have a few tone problems when you sing. it is quite normal though. some peoples voice range at a differnt pitch and that can make the tones your singing at seem un-stable. Other people who havent had a lot of voice training and dont do the voice excersizes oftten have a less "firm" diaphram which can make the tune your singing come out seperatly and not in tune and not flow. It really depends on how long you have been singing though and if you smoke or not. I DO NOT AND WILL NEVER smoke so my voice will probably stay the same as it is. when i first started though i was like a Tone-Deaf Cow. (not that i know what a tone-deaf cow sounds like...) :)... anyway as for the song great lyrics and i hope to see more x

Hi Tom,

That first sound in the song - I thought it was going to be a trumpet until it turned into a door creak - very unusual entry for a song! The style is quiet eclectic, it reminds me of Dinosaur Jr a bit. I was a bit unsure of the what the lyric "Grace is my skeleton key" meant, it wasn't too clear to me, but I assume you meant "grace" is not a girl but a personal attribute right? Anyway it became clearer as the song progressed. I liked the bit where the music stripped back in the bridge particularly. Good stuff.
